Acid Reflux

A condition where stomach acid frequently flows back into the tube connecting the mouth to the stomach (esophagus). This backward flow, known as acid reflux, can irritate the lining of the esophagus.

Barretts Esophagus

A complication of chronic acid reflux, Barrett's esophagus involves a change in the lining of the esophagus that can increase the risk of esophageal cancer.

Bile Duct

A series of thin tubes that transport digestive fluid (bile) from the liver to the gallbladder and then to the small intestine. Conditions or blockages in the bile duct can lead to liver damage or other complications.

Confocal Endomicroscopy

A cutting-edge diagnostic procedure that uses a special endoscope to obtain high-resolution images of the digestive tract's lining. It aids in real-time detection and classification of lesions.

Endoscopic Ultrasound

A procedure that combines endoscopy and ultrasound to produce detailed images of the digestive tract and nearby organs. It's often used to investigate unexplained pain, tumors, or other abnormalities.

Endoscopy

A procedure that uses a flexible tube with a light and camera attached to it (endoscope) to view the digestive tract. It can diagnose, and sometimes treat, conditions affecting the esophagus, stomach, and upper part of the small intestine.

G-POEM

A procedure to treat gastroparesis

POEM

A procedure to treat Achlasia and esophageal motility disorders

Pancreas/Bile Duct

Refers to the pancreas and bile duct systems. The pancreas aids in digestion and regulates blood sugar, while the bile duct transports bile. Disorders of these can lead to serious health complications.

Pancreatic Cysts

Fluid-filled sacs that form on or in the pancreas. While many are benign, some can be precancerous or cancerous, requiring monitoring or intervention.

Pancreatitis

An inflammation of the pancreas that can be acute or chronic. It occurs when digestive enzymes become activated inside the pancreas, leading to cell damage.

TIF Procedure

Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication (TIF) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat chronic acid reflux. It strengthens the valve between the esophagus and stomach, reducing or preventing acid reflux.
